Schlaf und Gehirn: Tour durch das Unbewusste
I investigate how inhibitory neurons in the lateral hypothalamus of mice tune future feeding behaviors during rapid eye movement sleep.

I am goint to talk about what sleep is and provide some hints to why organisms sleep. These points will be illustrated by presenting data from behavioral studies in animals. Finally, I will show some of my own results on the regulation of food intake during sleep in mice.

The audience will hear about the methodological techniques which are available to measure behaviour of humans. A special focus will be allocated to sleep. Furthermore a exciting study from our lab will be introduced.
