Novel epigenetics approaches for the treatment of ageing and disease
We are revolutionising the way we think about ageing by reprogramming organisms to live healthier lives. I will present an Introduction to ageing, genetics, and epigenetics and then further explain how epigenetic changes drive ageing, making ageing an epigenetic state. Another topic will be how epigenetic reprogramming can slow down or reverse ageing, and finally I will discuss how we study ageing and develop novel anti-ageing interventions in the lab.
This talk will be given in English.

How experimental models of immune cells can help us fight infections and immuno-logical disorders
We will chat about the concept of model and its importance in the process of generating knowledge. We will then explore some basic principles of immunology. Starting from this background, I will describe how in my group we generated and validated new experimental models of immune cells. Finally, I will describe few practical examples of how these models are being currently employed to improve our understanding of the response to infections and of the mechanisms of immune regulation.
